Katha

A multilingual letterboard (AAC) app that helps Indian families spell, speak, and communicate in English, Bengali, and Hindi.

Katha — preview

Katha is the first multilingual letterboard (AAC) app designed for Indian families. It helps non-verbal and minimally-speaking people express themselves through touch, sound, and words — spelling and speaking fluently in English, Bengali, and Hindi. It’s built to be calm, works 100% offline, and is priced so that every family can afford it. Available now on Google Play, with an iOS version on the way.

What Katha does

  • Letterboard spelling — a clear, large-key letterboard to spell words and build sentences, with smart word prediction to speed things up.
  • Core vocabulary — one-tap access to the most-used words, colour-coded by category: social, actions, descriptors, and questions.
  • Natural speech — tap to speak any word or sentence aloud in the chosen language, with adjustable voice, rate, and pitch.
  • Three languages — switch instantly between English, Bengali, and Hindi — the first letterboard built around Indian languages.
  • Emergency phrases — always-ready phrases like “Please help me” and “Call for help” for the moments that matter most.
  • Built for access — dwell selection, switch scanning, high-contrast and kids themes, large text, plus sound and haptic feedback. Large, 72×72 touch targets throughout.

Made for India

Most communication apps assume English. Katha was designed from the ground up for Indian families — so a child can think and speak in the language of home, whether that’s English (A B C), Bengali (অ আ ই), or Hindi (अ आ इ).

Simple, honest pricing

Pay once, use forever. No subscriptions, no hidden fees, no ads, no accounts, and no tracking. Katha is priced to be one of the most affordable letterboard apps available — because communication should never be a luxury. Every feature is included, in all three languages, with free updates as Katha grows.
