I’ve always been interested in the distance between a good research idea and something people can use. These are the companies where I work on closing it.

My career has followed a single thread: understanding people through the signals they give off — where they look, how their bodies respond, what they feel — and using that to make technology that adapts to them. In academia that meant over a decade of research on presence, empathy, and physiological computing. At Meta Reality Labs it meant applying those ideas to real product problems at scale.

Building companies is the natural next step. Embute Labs applies that depth to organisations that need clear, evidence-based strategy on emerging technology. AHUL takes the core research idea — that machines should be aware of the humans they serve — and turns it into infrastructure.

I lead the Emerging Technology Practice — spatial computing, XR, AI-driven systems, advanced UX research, and innovation roadmapping — alongside Dr. Pratiti Nath, who leads the Management Consulting Practice. Engagements are senior-led, with no junior handoffs.

AI systems have become remarkably capable at reasoning, generation, and action, yet remain blind to the people they serve — unaware of cognitive state, engagement, attention, stress, fatigue, or physiological arousal. AHUL is building infrastructure that lets AI understand human context in real time, including cultural variation.

Based in Bengaluru, India

AHUL is where the research thread becomes a company: affective and physiological computing, multi-modal machine learning, and human-computer interaction, turned into platform infrastructure that other products can build on. It is early-stage, incorporated in 2026.
