Effects of Heart Rate Feedback on an Asymmetric Platform using Augmented Reality and Laptop

Remote collaboration often pairs mismatched devices and can lack any sense of each other's emotional state. This paper builds an asymmetric system linking an AR user and a laptop user and, unusually for AR, shares heart-rate feedback between them to build mutual awareness. Across collaborative and competitive tasks with 20 participants, sharing heart rate proved beneficial for the AR user, and the tasks themselves influenced galvanic skin response though not heart rate.
