Neurophysiological Effects of Presence in Calm Virtual Environments

Calming virtual environments are widely used for wellbeing, yet presence within them is usually captured only through subjective questionnaires. This paper measured high versus low presence in calm virtual environments using physiological and neurological signals as an alternative. The signals showed a significant effect of presence, supporting objective measurement even in quiet, relaxing settings.
