TeachAR: An Interactive Augmented Reality Tool for Teaching Basic English to Non-native Children
ISMAR Adjunct
TeachAR is an augmented-reality tool for teaching English colors, shapes, and spatial relationships to non-native children aged four to six. Built in Unity with ARToolkit marker tracking and using the Kinect's microphone for isolated-word speech recognition, it distinctively uses speech as input for language learning rather than only as audio output. This paper describes the demonstration and users' experience with the application.
