OZCHI

In augmented-reality video conferencing, a remote person's video can be placed anywhere in the local user's view. This pilot study examined how that placement affects communication, social presence, and user preference across two kinds of task — assembly and negotiation. It found a correlation between the best video placement and the type of task, with notable effects on social presence.
